ECSWE in Brussels

Working group on Quality of Childhood
in the European Parliament

Brussels, ECSWE together with the Austrian MEP Karin Resetarits, has founded a working group on Quality of Childhood in the European Parliament. This group has been meeting every 2 months to discuss issues related to its remit, starting on the 5th of December 2006 with the Toxic Childhood Syndrome that has been so prominent in the UK media of late. Two University representatives from Spain and the Netherlans and six other NGOs from Denmark, Italy, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium have joined ECSWE to support this initiative on a new platform called the Alliance for Childhood- European Network Group.

On June 29 2006, representatives of various European anthroposophic associations and organisations founded ELIANT (European Alliance of Initiatives for Applied Anthroposophy), an Alliance with the aim of establishing legal safeguards for anthroposophic cultural initiatives. The Alliance is seeking joint representation of its interests in Brussels via a petition campaign.
