Welcome to WREN
WREN is intended to be a way of communication between all those interested in research into Steiner Waldorf education and also into educational topics that have a bearing on Steiner education. By disseminating and sharing such research we are more able to improve the practices in the early years settings, schools and teacher seminars. As educators whose responsibility is for a healthily integrated and nurturing education for all children, as well as their general well-being, we need a wide perspective of what is happening in all areas of our educational environment, as well as a clear and informed insight into the Waldorf classroom itself.
WREN website - the purpose
The purpose of this website is to provide a central point for areas of research. The types of research that you will find on this site include:
- Research that has been done into various aspects of Waldorf Education
- Research that pertains to Waldorf education and which is of interest to teachers, teacher educators and researchers
- Research that should be taken note of that raises questions about or provides underpinning of innovative and creative educational theory and practice.
- Suitable conference reports and book announcements.
- Reports from National WREN events such as the regular WREN UK meetings.
It is also planned that research papers written by graduates of the European Masters Programmes in Waldorf Education will also be included on this site. Masters Programmes in Waldorf Education are currently offered in Holland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK. (see links)
Papers of interest produced by students of the Plymouth University Waldorf BA (Hons) will also be published here.
